I am the WORST at packing for trips! Somehow I always leave it to the last-minute and always end up over packing. I have mastered the art of packing the essentials when it comes to beauty. Whether it is a short trip or long trip, carry on or checked luggage I always make sure I have these items with me. I’m not saying I only pack 10 beauty items (if that’s you please share your list, because that is still impossible for me at this time), but I always make sure I have these 10 items with me.
- Foundation: This really needs no explanation. I would be so devastated if I forgot my foundation at home, especially since my shade isn’t always carried at every location. My favorite go-to Foundation is Tient Idole by Lancome. It is a perfect match for my skin and really does stay on for 24 hours no need to re-apply.
- Makeup Wipes: Another item that I always throw inside my makeup bag! After a flight, I always like to give my face a refresh and these get the job done! My favorite makeup wipes to date have to be the Neutrogena wipes .
- Face Masks: Skin care is very important to me and after a long flight it’s nice to just throw on a mask before bed. Sephora does a great job of packing these one use face mask
- Concealer: One of my staple products, I currently love this one from Mac. It gives you that extra step to helping perfect your flawless skin (and also helps protect the skin from the sun).
- Travel size brushes/ beauty blender: I always like to pack my secondary set of brushes just in case it gets lost or something. If you have a travel set of brushes that is always great to pack. I don’t leave my beauty blender at home on any trips, this is life-changing but I’m sure you know that already 🙂
- Eyeliner: A good winged eye can complete any look from day to night. I personally love eye liner gel, it’s easier for me to be able to control how much eyeliner I want to put on. For $15 this Inglot gel liner will last you a while.
- Lipstick: I always try and pack 1 to 2 of my favorite lipsticks. Rebel by Mac always makes the cut as this is my go to lip!
- Mascara: This has become one of my staple products and can’t imagine creating a makeup look without it. Benefit does a great job of making amazing mascara I fell in love with They’re Real and love the added drama it adds.
- Eyeshadow Palette: Go ahead and pack your favorite palette. Most palettes are very travel-friendly and take up little space in the bag. An oldie but goodie I love this palette by Lorac.
- Travel Containers: Before running into the travel section,and buying up travel sizes of things you already own. Pick up some travel containers and pack your favorite items you can’t live without. Also for quick trips, if you don’t want to pack your foundation, most department stores will give your trail size foundations that can last you up to a week. Remember a little goes a long way! What can be packed in travel bottles: foundations, primers, conceals, toners, shampoos etc.
*Bonus tip:Refillable Perfume Spray: Using one of these to bottle up your favorite perfume is also very helpful for trips. I know I personally hate packing my full-size perfume containers.
