Sho & Tell- March Edit

Sho&Tell for March is coming a bit late because things have been a bit off due to COVID-19. I am entering week 5 of Social Distancing and also still working from home. I am grateful to still be employed during this time of uncertainty. Again, I will admit things have been tough adjusting to the “new normal”.

This month I am sharing some of the items that I am using more regularly now due to me being home for 85% of the week. I hope you guys are staying safe, sane and indoors. I CAN NOT wait for outside to open up again. Most of the items are going to be able to be purchased off Amazon, and the links are listed down below!

Black Vines- Celebration of black Wineries

One great thing about living here in California is the great access I have to amazing wines. I have Napa in my backyard, which is an amazing perk of living in the bay, and honestly, probably one of the top reasons I’m still here. Little did I know that there are plenty of black winemakers here who mostly are outside of Napa. I was happy to have been able to attend this event this year, and it was a great event to close out Black History Month.

Roka Akor- Dining in SF

The one great thing about living in a new city is exploring the food options. I rarely dine in San Francisco, but I’m going to start making an effort. Going into SF on the weekend is the same feeling I use to have about going to BK from Harlem. It seemed like a journey and a half, and I rarely did it. I’m exaggerating a bit on the SF side; the only thing that makes it difficult is that transit here is a whole hot mess! Also, don’t get me started on the crazy hills and why I’m terrified of driving in SF.

Anyways, I did make the venture to SF, and I’m so glad I did because my friend took me to this gem of a restaurant called Roka Akor, which is a restaurant that serves Modern Japanese food with strong drinks, and beautiful decor! This is a great spot for a date night, girls night, or any night you want some good food!
