Happy New Year, guys! I hope everyone is off to a fantastic start so far for 2020. I am finally well-rested from my Amazing trip to Lagos, Nigeria. This December, I got to travel back home with my family and 14 friends. Yes, we were a total of 20, and some who have never been to Africa before. For me, this was my first time back in 5 years and my 5th time visiting Lagos. This was my first time really exploring and going out in Lagos. If you have never been to Lagos, add it to your list of places to travel during December because December in Lagos is a whole vibe. I honestly don’t even know where to start without making this post a full novel, because there is so much I want to share about my trip. First and foremost, let’s start with how far out to plan this trip and all the things you should get before stepping into Lagos.
Zanzibar–Where is that again?
That had to be one of the most popular questions I was asked when I talk about my trip to Zanzibar. Last May I had the pleasure of traveling to this exotic Island which is off the coast of mainland Tanzania, Africa.
5 things you must do in Marrakech
I’m finally getting around to recapping the last bit of my Morocco trip, and you know what they say it’s better late than never!! When I got to Marrakesh, I was amazed by all the beautiful architecture and delicious food. If you plan to head to Morocco and more specifically Marrakech. Here are my 5 things that you must experience when you visit:
Passport to Africa: Morocco Edition
A couple of months ago I got to take a trip of a lifetime and travel to Morocco with some close friends. I also was able to travel to Zanzibar at the beginning of May. Both countries are popular African destinations, so I want to share my experiences with you. If you didn’t get a chance to check out my IG stories yet, be sure to head to my Instagram and watch the Morocco and Zanzibar stories.
How to Spend 8 hours in the Airport + Packing List
If you find yourself being stuck at the airport for longer, than 4 hours you will probably go crazy by just having to wait. On my recent trip to Morocco I had to change my flight to get ahead of the snow storm but then ended up having an 8-hour layover in Montreal. Here are some ways that helped me stay sane and kill time during this long layover.

You hear that Nolia Clap?
In honor of Mardi Gras just passing I’m throwing it back to recap my New Orleans trip I took this summer. It was my first time visiting, and I honestly fell in love! The city of fantastic seafood, Cajun any and everything, and beignets. You can’t forget to get the beignets. If you do one thing when you go to NOLA, do yourself a favor and go and get some beignets, and go multiple times.
I finally got to take the trip I’ve been dying to for years now. I was so happy to finally have experienced NOLA I also got to attend Essence Festival as a bonus.
My Birthday in LA + Travel Tips to Save Money!
Last month was my 29th birthday, and I got to escape the negative 4 degree weather to celebrate on the west coast. Ever since my visit to LA last year I knew I had to come back and explore more. Everything about this trip was perfect. We had fantastic weather that it made me forget it was January. Each day the temperature would wiggle between the 70s to 80s! Yes, 80 degrees in January. It had me questioning why I am choosing to deal with these harsh conditions. 😩
Jamaica Jamaica!
Headed to Jamaica? No worries I’m here to tell you all about my trip and my excursions. I’m going to recap my trip to Jamaica I took last month. After spending a couple of days in Jamaica and I’m in love from the food to the culture to the beaches! Jamaica is a great destination for a girls getaway, baecaction, or your next group trip!
Flurries, Curry, and Elephants.
As the temperature starts to drop, nothing warms me up more than some good comfort food. This week I decided to dive into my spice cabinet and pull up some of the spices I picked up in Thailand. Last May me and a few of my girlfriends (9 to be exact) made our way to Thailand for a 9-day trip! Just to give you guys a quick recap if you’re thinking about going to Thailand, you definitely should. I didn’t expect to fall in LOVE with the food, but I did. I wanted mango and sticky rice at the end of every meal, and I’m very sad I can’t start my day with a Thai Iced Coffee(if you haven’t ever had it you can recreate it; coffee + condensed milk–that simple).
Thailand is so beautiful and has so much culture for you to see. It is also a very affordable vacation, and I was able to get a great price on my ticket. (I believe it was around 800 which is a steal) If you know the exact dates you would like to travel I would track your flights with the mobile app called Hopper. This app has changed the way I travel and saved me tons of money! It tells you the best time to travel and alerts you when prices drop for your trips.
When you arrive in Thailand expect to get some meals for $10 or less, and do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a SPA! Make sure you splurge on this too. I must admit I took the cheap way the first time around and got a 65 minute massage for about 20 bucks, and let me just say that was an interesting experience. Spend the $150 and really treat yourself you won’t regret it.
Viva a La Cuba
Back from Cuba and I am ready to share all the details of my trip with you all! Did I fall in love with Cuba? Yes.
I’m so glad that I got a chance to go and visit Cuba now while it is still an untouched gem. My advice to you is to try to travel to Cuba within the next three years; as they are already starting to build up new hotels, and it will start to change. I was lucky enough to grab one of the deals with American Airlines, and got my roundtrip ticket for $236! If you do plan to travel please make sure to do your research, and make sure your trip falls under one of the 12 categories. An important thing to note is that for Americans travel for tourism is banned still. If you have any questions or need any help planning your trip please do reach out! During my trip, I was able to travel to Varadero Havana and Vinales. All very beautiful parts; Varadero is a beautiful town with amazing beaches, Havana is a MUST see and needs no explanation being in Havana at times definitely transformed me back to the 1920’s. Vinales is the beautiful countryside, I was able to go horseback riding, swim in a natural lagoon, and had the BEST mojito sweetened with natural honey straight from the farm!Continue Reading
