Hi There, I know I know, its been foreverrrrr! I do apologize for being MIA for so long, but sometimes you just need to push pause and take a break. That is precisely what I had to do. With so much new going on, I needed to take a break from Our Perfect Palette, and no, I did not anticipate to be gone this long. During my break, I was able to focus on launching my own business, yup your girl is a BUSINESS OWNER!! I’m also a little more acquainted with the West Coast since my one year anniversary just passed, it’s so crazy how time flies!
So what have I been up to since I was not cooking up reciepes and blogging on OPP?
In June, I finally launched my own company, called Dabira Candle Company. Which is going to be your new favorite candle company! Dabira (Pronounced “DAB-E-RAH”) is a Yoruba word with a dual meaning serenity, and God Does Wonders.
Why candles?!?! This is the most common question that I’ve been asked when I tell people I know make my own candles. I have always been obsessed with candles, and I love giving homemade gifts. One year I decided to gift my friends’ candles during the holiday season. I loved the thought of being able to mix up my own scents and then place it in a jar with a cute label. I actually did that pretty well, so I decided to learn more about candle making. That’s when I fell down the rabbit hole and knew basically everything there is to candles and candle making. I know that paraffin wax makes your candles smell amazing, but is not necessarily good for you and that’s what some of the popular candle companies are using. That’s another topic for another day!
